Understanding the little images that appear on your dashboard are an important part of car maintenance. Although they just seem pesky and annoying, they are extremely useful in keeping your car in working order.
First and foremost, understanding the color that the image appears in will allow you to determine how emergent the light is. If it appears in red, this is something that needs attention soon. If the light appears in orange or yellow, this is just a reminder that needs attention within a few weeks (such as an oil change, etc). Lights appearing in green or blue are merely indicators allowing you to know something like the turn signal is on or your bright lights are activated.
It is important to know that not all images are the same. They are very similar but images can differ slightly. It is important to bookmark the legend in your owner’s manual for quick reference.
